"A literary Journal of Architecture."
Manifest: A Journal of the Americas is an independent print publication published since 2014. Founded as a means to initiate a critical conversation about the state of American architecture, its cities, and its hinterland, Manifest tackles head-on what others have abandoned. While it intends to question the assumptions behind singular notions/constructions of the Americas by tracing its origins and its global influence, the journal also strives to define the uniqueness of American forms of space and the distinct set of political parameters through which these forms are shaped.
The journal features texts and visual essays by more than one hundred designers, scholars, artists, and journalists. It is committed to publishing highly experimental contributions that operate across genres, take unique positions on the question of American space, and make a pleasurable read.
